Fairchild Dornier 328-300

01/31/2011. Remarks by Doug Duncan: "This beautiful little commuter jet was based on the popular Dornier 328 turboprop design and was marketed as the Dornier 328JET. At the time this photowas taken, these aircraft were operated by Atlantic Coast Airlines, operating as Delta Connection. Atlantic Coast Airlines changed its name to Independence Air on November 19, 2003, and its status as a Delta Connection carrier ended on November 2, 2004. On January 5, 2006, Independence Air ceased operations.

Both aircraft were produced in 2000, the aircraft in the foreground was test flown in Germany with the temporary registration D-BDXN, and came on the FAA Registry as N413FJ on November 9, 2000. The other aircraft had the temporary registration D-BDXE, before it was registered as N416FJ on January 18, 2001."
