It was then sold to the Lockheed Aircraft Corp on April 30, 1956 and leased back to Flying Tiger until May 1958 and then leased to US Overseas Airlines of Wildwood, New Jersey, on May 15, 1958; US Overseas reregistered N402US on October 17, 1958. US Overseas Airlines purchased the aircraft on August 30, 1961 and sold it to another broker in October 1963 who leased it to International Airlines of Walnut Creek, California, in October 1963.

Reregistered N1281 on October 23, 1963, this DC-6 was purchased by International Airlines in December 1964 and immediately sold to Foreign Air Transport Development. The next owner was Aaxico Airlines of Miami, Florida who purchased it on September 1, 1965; Aaxico merged with Saturn Airways of Miami in late 1965. Saturn sold it to another broker in June 1970 and it was withdrawn from use and stored in Tucson, Arizona.

In 1971, another broker purchased it and leased it to Universal Airlines of Inkster, Michigan, in April 1972 and that airline purchased it in May 1975. Zantop sold it to the Canadian company Royal Aviation in March 1990 and the aircraft was reregistered C-GBYN; this registration was canceled in June 2002 when it was sold to Northern Air Cargo of Anchorage, Alaska. As of this date, the aircraft is still registered in the USA."
