08/31/2007. Remarks by Doug
Davidge: "The aircraft was built in 1929 and registered to
Western Canada Airways on February 11. Already on April 19, the
registration was tranferred to Consolidated Mining and Smelting. It
was sold to E.L. Wasson and G.T. Simmons on October 15, 1934, who
sold it to Northern Airways on June 8, 1935. It was wrecked in an
accident while taking off from snow on December 5, 1937.
About 43 years later it was recovered and restoration by Clark
Seaborn and his team started in 1982 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada,
using parts from other aircraft as well. CF-AAM flew again on July 24,
1998 gaining its certificate of airworthiness the following year.
After another 35,000 mls
(56,327 km) of flying the aircraft was
withdrawn from active flying and is shown at the Western Canada
Aviation Museum, Winnipeg."
