Fairey Swordfish Mk.III

07/07/2007. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This aircraft was delivered to the RN on April 15, 1944, March 13, 1945 it was transferred to the RAF, but returned to the RN on September 19, 1946. Retired from active duty on March 11, 1953, it was used for displays by No. 781 Squadron at Lee-on-Solent. In 1959 the aircraft was used in the filming of "Sink The Bismarck!".

NF389 flew on for some years becoming a static display aircraft in the mid-1960s. Presently it is under restoration to flying condition and thereafter will join the Royal Navy Historic Flight."
