"The first half dozen or so of the "L" (Liaison) series were originally classified as "O" (Observation). The first of these was the L-1, formerly the O-49. Only 142 were built, so surplus civilian ones were rare, shown is the ex-USAAC 40-3102 of 1941. Some went to the UK. View also photo 4792 and 8282."
