No. 1466. Airspeed AS.65 Consul (G-AJWR c/n 5162)

This aircraft was built as an AS.10 Oxford Mk.I and delivered to the
RAF with s/n HN829. After the war Airspeed bought it back from the
Government and converted it into the prototype of the ambulance
version of the Consul. In its new configuration it flew for the first
time in July 1947. It was sold to the French airline Société
Indochinoise de Transports Aériens (SITA) for operations in
Indo-China on May 19, 1948, registered as F-BEDP.
