Eurocopter EC135 T2+

05/31/2011. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Produced in 2003 as an EC135 T2, this aircraft was registered to the Bundesgrenzschutz (Federal Border Patrol) on November 4, 2003. On May 5, 2004, the aircraft was transferred to the Polizeihubschrauberstaffel Berlin (PHuSt. BE, police helicopter squadron Berlin), and jointly owned and operated by the Bundespolizei (Federal Police) of the states Berlin and Brandenburg. It is since based at Ahrensfelde, Brandenburg, seat of the Bundespolizei-Fliegerstaffel Ost (Federal Police Squadron East).

On March 14, 2006 the aircraft returned to service after Eurocopter Germany at Donauwörth had replaced the original two Arrius 2B1A engines by higher gear Arrius 2B2 engines, the aircraft was redesignated EC135 T2+ (also known as EC135 T2i). The standard Bundesgrenzschutz green livery had been resprayed in the pictured blue with silver lining and it was also retrofitted with special mission equipment for a wide range of operations, like observation, traffic control, search, security, and protection.
