08/31/2006. Remarks by Jack McKillop: "This aircraft was delivered to the USAAF on October 16, 1944 as a C-46D-5-CU, s/n 42-101198 and served in India during WW II. On April 10, 1946, it was sold to the Indian Government; and placed in storage in the 1950s. In October 1954, it was sold to Borges Tillotson Aircraft Corp. of Sacramento, California, USA. It was later sold to Lineas Aereas del Caribe (LIDCA) of Barranquilla, Colombia, in July 1956 registered HK-829. In 1957, it was sold to Transa Chile of Santiago, Chile, and registered CC-CND, and in 1963 sold to Lineas Aereas Sud Americana of Santiago, registered CC-CDC and used for charter flights.
In 1973, this C-46 was withdrawn from use and stored at Miami, Florida, USA until sold to Victor Sales in 1975 and then stored at Opa Locka, Florida, in 1976. In 1984, it was sold to Panama's Servicious Aereos R.D. and registered HP-977. In 1986, it was sold to Haiti's Haiti Air Freight and registered HH-DGA. In 1990 the aircraft was withdrawn from used and placed in storage.
In 1991, this aircraft was acquired by the Museum of Aviation near Robins AFB, Warner Robins, and is currently on display at the museum."
