Sellers Quadruplane

02/28/2014. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "Matthew Bacon Sellers II (1869-1932) built a number of gliders, before fitting his No. 6 glider with flight controls, a retractable landing gear (world's first) and a 7 hp engine. In November 1908, this Sellers Quadruplane became the first powered aircraft to fly in Kentucky.

The pictured aircraft is a replica."
