German propaganda photo caption: "Fallen into our hands undamaged. Our troops captured these aircraft
undamaged at an airfield near Paris. Photo 42251, July 1, 1940."
12/12/2003. Remarks by Carlo
Soliani: "The photo depicts brand-new Caudron C.445
Goéland (Seagull) light transport aircraft. In my opinion the photo was
taken immediately after the fall of France (June 1940), probably at Issy-les-Molineaux
aerodrome (Paris), just near the Caudron factory. Note the lack of
the propellers in all aircraft: sabotage? Note also the French
insignia temporarily covered by fabric wraps, seemingly before the
application of Luftwaffe markings. Indeed Goélands were
extensively used by Luftwaffe not only for transport but also for
training duties in flying schools."
