Lockheed 422 P-38H Lightning

02/28/2014. Remarks by Johan Visschedijk: "This aircraft was built as a Lockheed Model 422-81-20, the USAAF designation was P-38H-5-LO. In 1943 it was assigned to the 20th Fighter Group, initially with the 77th Fighter Squadron. In Europe the 20th FG and 77th FS were based at RAF Kings Cliffe, Northhamptonshire, England.

On November 15, 1943, while flown by Lieutenant James M. Morris, the aircraft was damaged in a landing accident at RAF Cheddington, Buckinghamshire. After repairs it was subsequently transferred to the 55th FS, based at RAF Wittering, where it was pictured with the marking KI-V, while assigned to Lieutenant Everett E. Geiger."
