Remarks by Robert
Bracken: "I have seen these photos before, and have copied
them from various collections. "7" is actually
"white 7", and has a 3./JG 7 badge, and it has a
plain white swastika. It was surrendered at Fassberg on May 8, 1945
by Uffz. Günther Engler. All might have been with some other
unit by the time the photo was taken. It was damaged in a flight
after capture, and not repaired, it seems.
There is a good chance that on the other hand "yellow
17" (surrendered at the same place, same day, by Lt. Hans
Dorn) is the aircraft now in England, usually at Cosford."
