RON DUPAS COLLECTION
No. 10A. Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a ("7" c/n 110800, "17" c/n 500220) Luftwaffe
Photographed at Fliegerhorst Faßberg, Lower Saxony, Germany, May 8-29, 1945, sources unknown

Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a

Remarks by Robert Bracken: "I have seen these photos before, and have copied them from various collections.

Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a
"7"

The "7" is actually "white 7", and has a 3./JG 7 badge, and it has a plain white swastika. It was surrendered at Fassberg on May 8, 1945 by Uffz. (Unteroffizier, Staff Sergeant) Günther Engler. All might have been with some other unit by the time the photo was taken. It was damaged in a flight after capture, and not repaired, it seems.

Messerschmitt Me 262 A-1a
"17"

There is a good chance that on the other hand "yellow 17", surrendered at the same place, same day, by Lt. Hans Dorn), is the aircraft now in England, usually at Cosford."
